The Dawning 2024 Event (December 2024):
- Seasonal Event: The annual Dawning event returned, allowing players to bake cookies for NPC allies using various ingredients.
- New Rewards: Introduced a new Dawning Linear Fusion Rifle, an exclusive icy Memento, and previous Dawning weapons.
- Activities: Players completed the Cookie Delivery Helper quest and baked cookies to earn rewards.
Upcoming Expansion – Codename: Apollo:
- New Saga: Bungie announced a new multi-year saga for Destiny 2, beginning with the expansion codenamed “Apollo,” following the conclusion of “The Final Shape” in June.
- Content Structure: In 2025, Bungie plans to implement two medium-sized expansions annually, along with free content updates, instead of a single large expansion.
- Innovations: The expansions will explore non-linear campaigns to challenge player expectations.
